Adoption Center ProfilingThe humane societies of the various San Francisco Bay Area counties, may have various policies, but among other things, fitting any one of the following profile markers will absolutely prevent you from qualifying to adopt a dog:- √ You are single
- √ You are employed. (Likely nobody is home all day.)
- √ You don't own your own home
- √ You don't have the landlord's permission to have a dog because his pet deposit is too expensive.
- √ Apartments don't have a big enough yard to exercise your pet.
No amount of assurances about your income, responsibility nor promises to train, excerscise your pet, nor promises to hire professional pet-walkers during the day or kennels while on trips will ever convince these groups to allow you to adopt. Every dog needs a home. Many people need a dog. The politics of pet adoption put these two questors on divergent paths. So only the Retired or otherwise "home alone all day" can find their canine companion through adoption. |
